The Quick Fix Diet – Lose 6kg in a Week!

Sometimes we all need a solution for losing a bit of weight in as short as possible a time – whether it’s for a special occasion or an upcoming holiday. This diet is intended to be followed for only a week and was devised by doctors as a crash diet for those who needed to lose weight rapidly before an operation. It’s a chemical diet, meaning that the combination of foods stimulate weight loss because of how they react with each other, and if you follow it to the T, you can lose 6kg. The weight won’t stay off if you revert back to bad eating habits, but it will give you a jump start if you’re intending to embrace a complete overhaul for a healthier lifestyle.

We tried and tested this diet last year after it was passed on to us by a friend and it does work. A word of warning though, it is super difficult and very heavy on the eggs. It will seem like complete insanity at times but if you stick with it, it gets results fast!

These are the rules:

IT SHOULD NOT BE FOLLOWED FOR MORE THAN A WEEK AT A TIME IN A PERIOD OF THREE WEEKS. Meaning that if you diet for a week, you should take two weeks off before attempting it again

  • No alcoholic drinks allowed
  • Abstain from anything not mentioned in the diet
  • No substitutions
  • No eating between meals
  • No butter, milk or fat
  • Eat only what is shown or go without
  • Drinks allowed are water (plenty of it, it subsides hunger pangs), black tea, black coffee, lemon tea, grapefruit juice, tonic water and soda water
  • Salad should consist of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and celery, nothing else
  • No sugar

DAY 1

Breakfast

1 slice dry toast with a grilled tomato

Lunch

Fresh fruit salad. Put in any fruit you like and have as much of it as you want, but only in one sitting

Dinner

2 hard-boiled eggs, salad and grapefruit

Told you it was hard! Day two might make things a bit easier…

 

DAY 2

Breakfast

Grapefruit and a boiled egg

Lunch

Any amount of roast chicken and tomatoes

Dinner

Grilled steak and salad

 

Feeling better?

 

DAY 3

Breakfast

Grapefruit and a boiled egg

Lunch

2 boiled eggs and tomatoes

Dinner

2 grilled lamb chops, celery and cucumber

 

DAY 4

Breakfast

2 slices of dry toast and 2 poached or boiled eggs

Lunch

Fresh fruit salad. Put everything in and eat as much as you like in one sitting

Dinner

2 hard-boiled eggs, salad and grapefruit

 

DAY 5

Breakfast

1 slice of dry toast and 2 poached or boiled eggs

Lunch

2 poached or boiled eggs and tomatoes

Dinner

Fresh or tinned fish and salad

 

DAY 6

Breakfast

1 boiled egg and 1 glass of grapefruit juice

Lunch

Fresh fruit salad – put everything in and eat as much as you like in one sitting

Dinner

Roast chicken, cabbage and carrots

DAY 7

Breakfast

2 scrambled eggs and grilled tomatoes

Lunch

2 poached eggs and spinach

Dinner

Grilled steak and salad
