Spectra art carnival set

The fifth annual Faber-Castell Spectra 2013 is being held under the patronage of the Indian Embassy and is organised by the Indian Community Relief Fund.

It is the largest art competition for students in Bahrain and aims to unearth artistic talent in students.

The competition will be split into three age groups – five to eight years, eight to 13 years and 13 to 18 years.

The schools taking part are Al Noor International School, The Asian School, The Indian School, The New Indian School, Quality Education School, New Millennium School, The Philippine School, Al Mahd Day Boarding School, Sneha, The New Horizon School, The Sacred Heart School and Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School.

The winners will be announced at an event, which will be held at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall on December 15 at 8pm.

The winning entries and other outstanding creations by the children will be made into 2014 wall and desktop calendars.

Donations will be accepted to provide relief to the families of Indian labourers who have died in Bahrain with wages under BD100. For donations or to support the carnival, call 39691500, 36499739 or 39863008.
