Popular children’s television show Shaun the Sheep will be coming to life at the 2014 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) announced today that a special Shaun the Sheep Tent will be put up in the Formula One Village vending area as part of a fantastic line-up of children’s entertainment.

The Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix takes place April 4-5-6 at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” in Sakhir.

A spectacular programme of kids’ shows will be held as part of the off-track celebrations of BIC’s 10th anniversary and the landmark 10th hosting of the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

Shaun the Sheep is recognised the world over for its slapstick humour, distinctive look and strong, quirky characters.

First appearing in the 1995 Academy Award winning Wallace and Gromit film “A Close Shave”, Shaun then went on to star in his own series in 2007. Now in its fourth season, Shaun the Sheep is currently broadcast in 170 territories around the world and is an internationally celebrated icon with nearly three million fans on Facebook.

The first Shaun the Sheep movie is currently in production with feature film partner Studio Canal and scheduled for release next year.

Shaun the Sheep will be joined at the Bahrain Grand Prix by the other characters from the series, including Bitzer, the Farmer and of course the Flock in, when they perform a brand new dance adventure to entertain youngsters.

There will also be several other fun activities for children inside the Shaun the Sheep Tent. These will be a part of events known as “the Championsheeps”.

“The Championsheeps” will be made up of several activities, including Shirley’s Pie-athlon, Free Range, Farmyard Fling, Cabbage Keepie Uppie, Get Fit with the Flock, Bitzer’s Sack Race, Flock ’n’ roll and Sheep Shape.

Shirley’s Pie-athlon will see kids race a Shirley-shaped sheep hopper while trying not to drop the piece of cake they are carrying. All the while, they will be trying to avoid several ‘healthy’ fruit obstacles.

In Free Range, children must lift chickens and see what they find underneath. If it’s a chick, they must be taken back to the safety of the henhouse; while if it’s an egg, it must be balanced on a wooden spoon and taken to the basket.

In Farmyard Fling, kids will try to knock the vegetable heads off three ‘farmer scarecrows’ by throwing wellie boots.

In Cabbage Keepie Uppie, children must try to keep the Farmer’s prize cabbages up and out of the mud.

In Get Fit with the Flock, kids will get involved in a mass participation session of hula hooping, aerobics and line dancing; while in Bitzer’s Sack Race, they must dress up as Bitzer and race to the finish.

Flock ‘n’ Roll will see children work in teams to roll a giant Shirley around the obstacle course. The first team to push their Shirley in the bath wins.

Finally, Sheep Shape is a large clay modelling station where children can add to their growing farmyard scene.

All this, plus plenty more entertainment for all ages will be on hand at the 2014 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

Tickets can be purchased at the BIC stands in Bahrain City Centre and Seef Mall; online at www.bahraingp.com or at BIC’s official page on Facebook; or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17-450000.
