Paris Gulf Air flight is diverted due to glitch

A GULF Air aircraft en route from Bahrain to Paris had to be diverted to the Hungarian capital of Budapest after the crew reported a problem with the flight controls, last week.

The incident, last Wednesday, resulted in the aircraft remaining on the ground in Budapest for four-and-a-half hours while the Elevator Aileron Computer was replaced, according to civil aviation incident report service The Aviation Herald.

Gulf Air officials told the GDN that the technical issue, which caused the flight to be delayed by five hours in total, was minor but the airline made the decision to land as its policy is to “always err on the side of caution”.
