Outdoor market for art opens

THE talent of Bahrain’s artists is on display as the third edition of a popular outdoor market opened yesterday.

The annual Market 338, organised by Al Riwaq Art Space, is made up of 60 stalls featuring food, artwork, accessories and clothes spread out across Block 338, Adliya’s restaurant district.

It is part of the gallery’s initiative to promote local talents and provide the public with innovative events.

This year’s theme is Bahrain circa 1950s, and has a variety of food on offer, including vegan Arab offerings, traditional food, cupcakes and other desserts.

Last year’s event attracted more than 5,000 visitors, and organisers hope for an even bigger turnout this year.

The market will also host an Open Mic event tonight, inviting members of the crowd on to the stage to sing.

Opening hours are from Sunday to Wednesday from 5pm to 10pm, Thursday to Friday from 5pm to 11pm and Saturdays from 11am to 5pm.
