Mr. Olympia Participants and guests to reach Bahrain tonight




Chief guests and participating delegations in the third International Federation for Bodybuilders and Fitness (IFBB) Amateur Mr. Olympia Championship will start landing in the Kingdom tonight. The Championship comes under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President and Royal Charity Organisation Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and will be held at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town in the period between December 5 – 7.

Amateur Mr. Olympia 2012 champion Rami Elssbiay, who is also known as ‘Big Rami’ will be the first to arrive tonight. IFBB President Rafael Santonja will be received tomorrow by Bahrain Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (BWBF) President and Asian Bodybuilding Federation President Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Within the preparations for the international event, Shaikh Abdulla recently visited the venue of the championship. The President viewed the arrangements made by the Interior Ministry and Bahrain Music Institute music bands which will perform in the opening ceremony of the championship, promoting the cultural heritage of Bahrain before the world.

He also ensured that the venues of the championship and the accompanying exhibition and activities is well prepared to accommodate the event.
On the sidelines of hosting the championship, an exhibition will be open to the public to promote fitness and healthy nutrition among visitors, especially the youth. The exhibition is organised as the results of cooperation between the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Asian Bodybuilding Federation.
Around 50 Bahraini business owners, which are related to healthy nutrition and fitness will participate in the three-day outdoor exhibition. The exhibitors who are supported by UNIDO and Tamkeen will be in the vicinity of Khalifa Sports City during the three days, in-line with the timings of the championship.
Head of UNIDO’s Investment Promotion Program in Manama Dr. Hashim Hussain affirmed that organising the exhibition aims to spread the concepts of healthy and natural culture, as well as highlighting the development achieved by the Kingdom in this field. It also targets combating the increasing percentages of obesity-related diseases in the region, such as Diabetes.

The championship is also accompanied by an unremitting media campaign, especially through social media networks.
