POLICE have launched a manhunt after three men broke into a supermarket and stole BD100 in cash and groceries.

It happened in Al Burooj Supermarket in Tubli at around 1.30am early Sunday morning.

CCTV footage has been forwarded to police, who are investigating the case.

“We went home after closing the shop on Saturday night at around 11.30pm,” said the shopkeeper, who did not wish to be named.

“When we came back in the morning, we saw the lock was broken and money missing from the till.

“We also saw many things were missing from the shop.

“Police came and took evidence and CCTV footage from us.”

It is believed the three robbers were Pakistanis, as they were wearing the country’s traditional shalwar kameez.

Each covered their faces with handkerchiefs to try and avoid detection. Police sources confirmed the break-in, but no other details were available
