AN office worker allegedly raped the daughter of his boss after being sent to clean his house.

It is claimed he crept into her bedroom, where she was resting as she recovered from an illness, and overpowered her before carrying out the assault.

The Indian, in his 30s, allegedly put his hand down her throat to try and stop her screaming and the victim suffered bruises all over her body in the attack.

No one else was at home in her villa, in Manama, as the rest of the family were abroad.

The man pleaded not guilty to rape and assault as he appeared from custody at the High Criminal Court yesterday.

His alleged victim, an Indian, also aged in her 30s, attended the closed hearing with her father.

The defendant, who was sitting behind a glass barrier only metres from where she sat, smirked at her throughout the hearing.
