Motorsport fans will have the unique chance of getting as close as it gets to Formula One racing in an interactive tent, known as F1 Game Zone, at the 2014 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The exclusive marquee will offer a handful of exciting and challenging activities that give the general public a first-hand look at what it is like to be a part of the world of Formula One.

F1 Game Zone will be located within Bahrain International Circuit’s (BIC) F1 Village vending area.

It is one of several awesome off-track attractions that will be complementing all the racing at this year’s Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, taking place April 4-5-6. This year’s race weekend will be an extra-special event as it marks BIC’s 10th anniversary, and with it comes the Kingdom of Bahrain’s first-ever Formula One night race.

F1 Game Zone will offer perfect photo-opportunities for fans on a replica Formula One podium as well as in a true-to-size Formula One car.

State-of-the-art Formula One car simulators will be on hand. These are impressive high-fidelity 180-motion simulators that bring the riders inside the simulation by making the simulated forces and impacts real.

Meanwhile, visitors will be able to test their reaction speed and hand-eye coordination by using the same equipment that Formula One drivers use to train, known as the BATAK Pro. The aim is to hit the illuminated buttons at random within a 30-second time limit.

F1 Game Zone will also feature an eight-lane slot car racing track with the BIC design, giving the fans a chance to compete with others to be the first to get to the finish line.

The Pit Stop Challenge will give people an opportunity to experience accurate demonstrations as to how to complete a pit stop and instructed on the roles of the pit crew. Using life-like compressed air drills, the audience will be recorded as they take on the challenge themselves.

Furthermore, the interactive Pit Wall and the Formula One training experience will also be part of F1 Game Zone, adding to the racing fever!

F1 Game Zone will not be the only place fans can get an exciting adrenaline rush at F1 Village during the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

Those looking for a more physical challenge will love the obstacle course in the sky, known as the High Rope Course.

Attached to ropes, participants will have to keep their balance and work their way around the course, making for a thrilling adventure for fans looking to challenge themselves.

F1 Game Zone and the High Rope Course are only two pieces of the spectacular entertainment package put together by BIC for this year’s race weekend.

A wide array of main stage performances, roaming acts, children’s entertainment and so much more will be on hand – all for the enjoyment of the young and young-at-heart.

The off-track entertainment will be highlighted by three major concerts featuring top regional and international artists. They include superstar DJ and producer Avicii, legendary rock band The Scorpions, and Saudi Arabian pop star Rabeh Saqer.

Avicii and The Scorpions will be playing back-to-back concerts on the Saturday night (April 5) of the Grand Prix weekend, while Saqer will be taking to the stage on the Friday night (April 4).

Tickets are selling at a near-record pace for this year’s Grand Prix and those wishing to attend the race weekend are advised to purchase theirs as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.

Tickets range from BD150 for all three days at the Main Grandstand to BD60 for three days at the University and Victory Grandstands. Three-day tickets for the Batelco Grandstand are BD120 apiece while tickets for the Turn One Grandstand are BD100.

Tickets to the 2014 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix can be purchased at the BIC stands in Bahrain City Centre or Seef Mall; online or on the official BIC page on Facebook; or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17-450000.

Special discounts on tickets are available for children, senior citizens and those with special needs.

Children aged three to 12 years old can get tickets at 50 per cent off, while school students aged 13 to 17 can get a 25 per cent reduction. Further, senior citizens aged 60 and above and those with special needs can both purchase a ticket with a 25 per cent discount.
