Dinner and dance party raises funds for needy

MORE than 300 people last night attended a major fundraising event at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa.

The Ecumenical Conference of Charity’s (ECC) annual dinner and dance party featured an auction, raffle draw and live entertainment by local band Highway Haze and DJ Ed.

Organisers said between BD12,000 and BD15,000 has been raised, which will go towards repatriation and medical aid for low-income workers, the ECC’s ‘Sponsor a Child’ programme, and the Bahrain community project, which supports orphans and needy families.

Funds raised will also be used to pay for chemotherapy treatments, sponsoring an underprivileged child’s school fees and visiting expatriate workers in hospital.

Guests enjoyed a buffet dinner with selected beverages donated by BMMI.
