The four Bahrain School (BS) students who got an opportunity to explore new creative avenues and refine their skills to the highest levels for one week said that the experience was a great thrill and opened up new perspectives in their lives.  Creative Connections 2014, a visual and performing arts symposium for talented high school students, was held in Oberwesel, Germany.

Angelica Orr, a 12-grade student said that she found Creative Connections “an amazing experience.”

“I attended Calligraphy, where I learned Traditional Eastern Art techniques,” she said.

“What I loved most about Creative Connections was the fact that I was able to meet exquisitely talented and diverse students from different schools in Europe. Creative Connections was like a remaking of the movie ‘Camp Rock’, but it was ‘Camp Art’. It was definitely an unforgettable experience,” she added.

For Nadzareen, another 12-grade student, art is a tremendous way for expanding her energy.  “There, I was able to devote a whole week learning Eastern Calligraphy,” she said. “It was rewarding to experience and learn this medium at an advanced level. As an immediate result, my interest in this medium has grown. I have discovered that calligraphy is heavily associated with culture and emotion.”
