Autumn Fair expected to attract 200,000 visitors




CLOSE to 200,000 people from Bahrain and neighbouring countries are expected to attend next week’s Autumn Fair.

The 26th edition of the fair, which is one of Bahrain’s largest consumer exhibitions, will be held under the patronage of Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed Al Zayani at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

More than 750 exhibitors from 21 countries are set to take part and showcase thousands of products from January 21 to January 29.

Arabian Exhibition Management project manager Mohammed Ebrahim, who is organising the event, said this year’s expo will be the biggest.

‘The Autumn Fair continues to garner a spectacular response from visitors and exhibitors alike, from far and wide,’ he told the GDN.

‘Going strong in its 26th edition, this year has witnessed a phenomenal exhibitor response as evidenced by the increase in exhibition space.

‘With the vast range of products, the exhibition truly has something for everyone and we are looking forward in all confidence to yet another highly successful event.’

The nine-day exhibition spans 15,400sqm this year ‘“ a four per cent increase from the previous event.

It will feature a variety of products on sale ranging from specialty food, fashion and furniture, technology, toys and textiles.

‘Numerous Bahraini businesses regularly take part in the exhibition, and many offer special deals to visitors,’ added Mr Ebrahim.

The exhibition also attracts strong exhibitor participation from Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia and Turkey.

The largest international exhibitor groups assemble to form national pavilions from nine countries including China, Egypt, Kuwait, Turkey, Syria, the UAE, Pakistan, Yemen and Thailand.

The fair will open to the public from noon to 10pm on January 21, and from 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 10pm on January 22.

On January 23 it will be open from noon to 10pm, and from January 24 to 27 it will be open from 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 10pm.

On January 28 and 29, the fair will be open from 10am to 10pm.

Special mornings only for women will be held on January 25 and 26.

Tickets will be available at kiosks outside the centre, and are priced at 700 fils, while entry is free for children aged under five.
