26% rise in applicants for visas to attend Jewellery Arabia

Director of Visas and Residence at the Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Sunday announced an increase by 26% over last year in the number of visas issued for visitors to the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition 2014, to be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa from November 18 to 22.

He said the visa procedures for the event’s visitors were being facilitated through the website www.evisa.gov.bh as part of the NPRA’s strategy to support tourism, commercial activities and international exhibitions in Bahrain.

The NPRA has implemented Ministerial Order No. 224/2014 to increase the number of countries whose nationals could apply for visa on arrival to 66 and to those who could apply for e-visa to 102 from October. The facilities cover tourists, visitors, investors, businessmen and those with direct foreign investment in Bahrain.
